At just 17 inches tall, he is the ultimate "pocket rocket"—compact, incredibly friendly, and full of life. Rigby absolutely loves people and greets everyone he meets with total warmth. He is a clever, active dog who just loves to be busy. He doesn't need to be walked for hours on end, but he thrives on mental stimulation, puzzles, and having a "job" to do to keep his intelligent brain satisfied. 🏡 What Rigby Needs in His Forever Home • A Country Pace: Rigby has distinct Collie traits, meaning he can become easily overstimulated in hectic environments. A quiet country life will suit his sensitive and busy mind perfectly. • A Secure Garden: He would love a private garden where he can freely wander, explore, and sniff at his own leisure. • Structure & Routine: Rigby needs a knowledgeable owner who understands working breeds. He thrives on a predictable routine and needs someone who will continue his training, ensuring he gets plenty of opportunities to rest and switch his brain off. • The Only Pet: Rigby is very social with other dogs, but he is quite forward and hasn't quite learned what "personal space" is yet! Because he is still working on his boundaries, he needs to be the only dog in the home. He also has a high interest in cats, so a feline-free home is best. • Children 8+: Due to his high energy and ongoing training, Rigby can live with sensible children aged 8 and older. 🦮 Training Progress Rigby is a quick learner! While he is "busy" on the lead, he is very manageable and eager to please. We have started crate training with him to help him learn how to settle down and relax, and he is doing incredibly well. Rigby just wants to be everywhere and involved in everything, but with a patient owner who can set clear boundaries, he is going to make a spectacular, loyal companion. Adoption Requirements * Meet Me in North Cork: After a home visit, potential adopters must be willing to travel to our kennels in North Cork to meet me in person. * Bring Your Dog: If you already have a family pet, they must come along to the meet-and-greet so we can make sure we get along. * Adoption Fee: An adoption fee applies to help support the rescue and save more dogs like me. I am a good boy who is just waiting for the right person to see my potential and give me the time I need to grow.
