Our little girl Jovi has been through a lot since she arrived. Jovi has diabetes insipidus but only needs half a tablet every day. She really does deserve to get a home after her bad start.
Jovi arrived to us last year very underweight. She is a whippy lurcher approx 1.5 years old. It was noticed very quickly that she was drinking much more than she should. After numerous blood tests and other tests, she was diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus, just to be clear is not actual diabetes. This relates to a lack of a hormone; all Jovi requires is a half tablet of desmopressin acetate, which is a human medication that can be got by vet prescription. The cost is approx. 50 cents a day Jovi is a big character in a medium size dogs body. She is quite active, but she definitely has an off button. Jovi loves a good gallop, and once that’s out of the way she’ll quite easily sit down and watch the world go by. She loves attention and could live with children 8 years old and upwards. Jovi is independent and does not require another dog, but she can also live with another dog. She will require high boundaries as she is capable of jumping very high!! However, once she’s settled in a house and a home, she will settle down. Jovi is not cat-friendly. Jovi tries to be clean in her kennel, and her indoor training is in progress. Jovi is such a lovable girl, and no dog has deserved a great home like our Jovi. When you first bring her out on the lead in the morning, you think she will combust with excitement, but then she settles very quickly. It's just she’s full of the joys of life, and this is how she shows it. Jovi is very good on the lead and pretty good recall in a secure area. A great girl who will fill any home with lots of love, enthusiasm, and a zest for life. Jovi is fully vaccinated inc Kennel Cough, chipped, and spayed. Home visit and adoption fee apply; a very secure garden is required. Please note we are in North Cork and adopters must be willing to travel to our kennels to meet the dog.
