Rio

Description

❤️ Rio Is Exactly Why We Are Here Rio is the kind of dog The Underdogs exists for. A wee JRT who found himself in the pound, struggling to use his hind leg and unable to put weight on it. A dog who, quite possibly, could have been overlooked because he has a problem that needs veterinary treatment. But these are the dogs we are here for. ❤️ We stepped in for Rio because we could see he was struggling. Our vets are almost certain he has ruptured his cruciate, but until he has his X-rays tomorrow, we won’t know exactly what we are dealing with or whether there is anything else going on. Surgery is likely, but right now we need to take things one step at a time. And despite being sore and facing an uncertain road ahead, Rio has been an absolute wee gentleman since coming into our care. He is pleasant, well-mannered and just a really lovely little man. 🥺 Now Rio needs a foster home — or a foster home with a view to adopt. He needs somewhere calm where he can rest, recover and, most importantly, feel loved while we work out his treatment plan. 🐾 Could live with a calm, settled dog 🐾 Not cat tested 🐾 Could live with children aged 8+ who understand he needs to rest 🐾 Veterinary treatment and any necessary surgery will be supported by The Underdogs We know a dog with a possible cruciate injury isn’t the easiest dog to take on. But the dogs with problems, the dogs who need a little more help, the dogs who might otherwise be overlooked… Those are the dogs we are here for. ❤️ Rio didn’t ask to end up in the pound. He didn’t ask to be injured. He just needs someone to give him a chance. Could that someone be you? 🐾❤️

❤️ Rio needs a chance! Our 3–5yr old JRT came from the pound struggling with his hind leg. Vets suspect a ruptured cruciate and X-rays are booked. Rio is a lovely, well-mannered wee man who deserves a calm foster/foster-to-adopt home. These are the dogs we’re here for! 🐾
