🐐💙 HERBERT NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 💙🐐 Meet our lovely boy Herbert ❤️ Herbert is a Billy goat, estimated to be around 1–3 years old, and he has recently joined The Underdogs NI. He’s a little shy at first, but underneath that initial nervousness is a gentle-natured, lovely boy who is slowly learning that people can be kind. 🥹❤️ He’s actually doing really well with his lead walking and is proving to be a very good boy when out and about. We are looking for a foster home with a view to adopt for Herbert while we complete his medical work. We want him to have the chance to settle somewhere safe, receive plenty of TLC and experience life in a loving home. 🐐 HERBERT’S NEW HOME WILL NEED TO PROVIDE: 🌱 Access to a secure field with adequate grazing and a constant supply of fresh water. 🧗‍♂️ Platforms and safe areas to climb and play — goats love to explore! 🔒 Excellent fencing — goats are notorious escape artists! 🏡 Access to a shelter or stable, kept clean and straw-lined, providing protection from the elements and shade during warmer weather. 🧠 Mental stimulation, such as hiding treats and using suitable feed/puzzle balls. 🌿 Plenty of room to roam, explore and investigate. 🐐 Goat companionship — goats are naturally social animals and thrive with company, so Herbert will need appropriate companionship. ❤️ Daily handling and a consistent routine — goats are very sociable animals and benefit from regular positive interaction. 🦶 Regular foot care, with feet dressed approximately every 4–6 weeks. 🌿 The area must be checked carefully to ensure there are no poisonous evergreen plants accessible to the goats (with the exception of ivy). Please note: New owners will need to have a flock number in place to keep Herbert.
