Description

Pippa requires a very specific forever home.

Pippa is a small but very fiesty little lady, who knows what she wants and what she doesnt. She is social with other dogs both big and small, she isnt afraid of any of them, not even the massive greyhounds. If anything they are scared of her, as she is a bossy little lady. Whilst Pippa is dog friendly, she does have issues around resource guarding, it isnt an issue she has all the time, but occassionlly she will decide that something is hers and she will guard it from the other dogs and us humans. For that reason she would need an adult only home, as her resource guarding can be random, and its important that you know not to take things off her when she is growling. Its not an issue that is easy to work on in kennels as you could go weeks without any issues, then one day she decides she wants to guard a toy or bone. But if she has something we need to take off her, we tend to do so with the use of treats, she loves food and will normally swap the object for a tasty treat. We are happy to help with the cost of a trainer, but she is just going to be a little lady who needs an experienced forever home. Pippa isnt friendly with strangers, it takes her a while to warm up to you and she very much likes attention on her terms. If she no longer wants attention she will soon let you know. She would require multiple visits here at the rescue, to help her begin to bond with a new person. She would need a home where there isnt alot of visitors, she is very much a one person kind of dog.
