Finn is a very friendly and smart boy who knows many tricks and is very eager to learn. He had seperation anxiety, so may cry and bark when alone.
Finn is one of our longer term residents, he would love a forever home. Please read the entire description before applying. Finn is a 5yr old Lurcher, he loves people and can be live in a home with teens and older. He is not suitable around kids as he hasnt been around kids before. Finn has been in rescue now over 3 years, so he will need a patient and understanding home who will allow him time to decompress and adjust when in a new home. He is a very smart boy, who loves to learn. He knows alot of tricks such as sit, down, paw, spin and jump up. He has alot of brains and would thrive in a home who loves training. He loves food, cuddles and playing with his toys. He loves playing fetch and going for long walks. Finn is great in the home and super clean when you are with him, he is happy to relax and play with his toys aslong as your with him. But when left on his own with in the home he does have some issues with seperation anxiety and will cry and pace, and sometimes have toilet accidents if he gets himself super worked up. He hasnt shown any signs of chewing furniture or anything during his time within our home, but does get upset as soon as we close the door behind ourselves and you can hear him crying and pacing until you return back to the room, then he is super settled and happy again once he see's you there again. Finn does have some lead reactivity, which means he can pull sometimes when he sees other dogs and can get bark if you allow him too, we are happy to cover some training sessions to help with this, with one of our approved dog trainers. When we are walking him, he does well for me and is easy to redirect his attention, I dont find the lead reactivity to be a major issue at all. In rescue Finn does mix with other dogs pretty well when introduced properly, but would like a home as the only dog as he is going to need additional care and time. When it comes to his toys or bones, some days he is fine sharing with the other dogs and some days he doesnt feel comfortable sharing them with other dogs. He is ALWAYS absolutely fine sharing them with me and has no resource guarding issues at all around people at any time. Finn has been badly attacked by another dog and this has resulted in some fear at times with dogs he doesnt know, especially black dogs. Finn has been a good boy whilst in our care the past few years, he is a smart boy with alot of potential, he just needs a specific home who is willing to help him become his best self. We are happy to answer any questions and talk about Finn in more detail. Also happy to facilitate walks, meet and greets etc. to try and find him the best forever home. He is a wonderful boy who just need a loving forever home.
