Description

CP is a lovely boy who needs an extra special home.

CP came into our care from one of the local pounds, due to having a sore leg they were unable to rehome him. He had xrays and assessments with our vet and also got a second opinion, but it was discovered that the bones in his leg was deformed and causing him great discomfort and due to him not using the leg the vets said the only option was amputation. He has recovered well from the surgery and it hasnt healed him back one bit. He is infact much happier and care free now. CP is good with other calm dogs in general, but he can find larger dogs overwhelming. Ideally he would love to be the only dog in the home as he doesnt always like to share the attention, he is absolutely fine with cats and could live with a cat no problem. We were told that CP is child friendly, but we think he would be best in a home with teens and over as he can get worried at times, and he can also bond hard with some people and not always want to share the attention (this has caused him to snap at some people on occasion). He spends most of his day currently snuggled up under the duvet in my mothers room. He has become her shadow and loves being close, often spending the night snuggled up right against her back or face. So im sure he will bond with the next person just as much and very quickly become your best friend. He hasnt shown signs of seperation anxiety. He is good in the house, but might need some house training as he settles into a new home and routine, he currently uses puppy pads if we are not home. He has never been noisy or destructive whilst within the home. He is also used to a crate, but we dont use it very often. A secure garden would be required for his safety.
