🚨 Rehoming Appeal 🚨 With owner: owners words/description Claude is a loving, intelligent 20-month-old working Cocker Spaniel, but sadly we no longer feel we’re the right home for him alongside our young baby. He is a high-arousal dog who needs plenty of mental stimulation, consistency and active management. When overstimulated, he can chase his tail and struggle to settle; however, with lots of recent training alongside a behaviourist, this has improved significantly. Following a recent tummy bug, he has also developed some increased arousal/frustration around food, which we’re currently managing with structured feeding. His new owner will need to be willing to continue working with him on this. With a baby in the house, we don’t feel we can give Claude the time, management, training and freedom he needs to continue making progress. Claude is fully house-trained and crate-trained and knows plenty of commands, including sit, stay, wait, paw, high five and roll over. He walks well on lead however will need extra help with training his recall. He really just wants to please everyone around him. He loves belly rubs, walks, sniffy games and toys, and we know he’ll make a brilliant companion in the right home. We’re looking for an experienced home with the time, patience and understanding to meet his needs. Not okay with cats, unsure with dogs as he hasn't really been around other dogs.
