Description

Vixen is a beautiful girl, who had a bad start in life. She's still very frightened of humans and will require an understanding home to make her feel safe

Vixen is a beautiful girl, who had a bad start in life. She was pretty much feral when she came in to rescue with her mother and siblings. Her siblings have all been rehabilitated and rehomed, but Vixen is still very scared of humans, though she will now walk amongst people rather than hide against the wall. She is ok with me picking her up now and does comes looking for attention at time. But she still by all means a very dog orientated dog, who much prefers other dogs rather than humans. She can still be a little snappy with strangers if she feels trapped. For this reason her home is adult only, not suitable with children. She needs a lot of time & patience. She will require a secure garden with 6ft boundaries, as smaller fencing wouldnt be safe enough if she got scared or spooked. A home with another dog would be required, as she loves other dogs and has always had them around. She is great with big and small dogs. She is currently working on her lead training, but as she is timid of people, she doesnt really like being on lead still. Though has started to show some improvement with the use of a harness. She would need time to bond and adjust to a new home and maybe practice walking around the garden, before trying to take her on walks as she will find it very stressful when she gets rehomed and would be a flight risk initially. In the house she is generally pretty chill and loves snuggling into other dogs and just relaxing. She can get spooked though at times, so having a crate covered with a bed inside, gives her a safe space to run back to if she needs her own space. She will need a very special and patient home, but ive no doubt with love, that she could become a happy girl. She does show her happy and playful side when in the enclosed field running around with her friends. Please note she will also need most basic training such as house training, as she is currently in kennels mostly.
