Like most teenagers, Rex enjoys his sleep, his dinner, and leaving his room in a state for someone else to sort 🙈
He’s a clown and a favourite amongst the team
Minimum required enclosure size: 6x2ft vivarium, with a deep substrate layer for burrowing
Suitable for:
-homes with older sensible children
-keepers with previous large lizard/ monitor experience.
Rex went through the typical pubescent tegu phase but has made it out the other side with fantastic manners both inside and out of the viv. He prefers to be on the ground and exploring rather than being held, but is becoming more comfortable with this with repeated positive experiences.
He is a big powerful lad, so would be better with older, sensible children in the house, and someone who has previously kept similar animals and understands their behaviour.
Food is his love language, he enjoys a varied diet although he can see his greens far enough. A treat of banana, mango, or a tasty fish will get you into his good books for days.
