Although he has been waiting for his new home for about six months now, Gizmo is a happy little chap. He carries a little extra weight, so his new family will have to continue to help him on his health journey. Since he is great at begging for food, it's best to keep him out of the kitchen while you're making your dinner! He is only getting healthy treats at the moment; his favourites are blueberries, carrots and cucumbers.
He is currently in a foster home with several other dogs and is fine with them. He also gets along with cats here. We would advise feeding him separately from other pets, as he is on a restricted diet.
He is also good with children and likes going for a spin in the car.
Gizmo is crate-trained, so the crate is his favourite place to sleep at night. He loves toys but tends to tear small soft toys apart - but he does like bigger teddies to snuggle. Apropos snuggling... Gizmo is a great cuddler and likes to give kisses.
Overall, he is a rather lazy little guy, perfect as a couch companion, but he also likes going for a walk. He is good on- and off-lead.
We can't think of any reason why Gizmo has been overlooked for so long, while other dogs have come and gone on to their new homes. He is not white and fluffy, but he has personality and a happy smile.
