Indi is a beautiful lurcher, who was adopted from us as a pup 4 yrs ago, but sadly is needing a new home as his family feels they are no longer a suitable match. Sadly his socialization was limited the past few years due to covid, so he can be insecure and have some lead reactivity on walks toward other young/insecure dogs. He is used to wearing a muzzle on walks and we can cover some dog trainer sessions, to help you and Indi learn to work through this. He has previously lived with four cats, but we are unsure how he would be with cats he doesn't know. His owner said he can probably live with indoor cats, following proper introductions. He can live with teens and older, who are used to large dogs. His owners said he can be so sweet and snuggly, very smart, lazy, and stubborn. Indi needs a calm and experienced home, that will set boundaries and be willing to put in the work initially to address some of his issues. He can be possessive of food and things at times, this is something that will need to be managed and again we can have a trainer visit anyone who adopts Indi, to help address any of these issues. He would be best suited in a country home, where walks can be calmer and there will be lower stimulation. His owners said, "Ideally he just wants to be someone's best friend and snuggle buddy, living his best life in the country and possibly as part of a well-trained dog pack (he's quite insecure and tends to mimic the behavior of the dogs around him when they seem more confident in themselves)." INDI is not in our care, he will hopefully remain with his family till a new home is found.
