Five FREE ways you can help with the Irish Dog Crisis

We're all feeling the pinch, but here are five FREE ways you can help

Foster

Foster

The pounds are full, the rescues are full. We can't make the pounds bigger but we can make the rescues bigger by adding more foster spaces. Fostering is completely free as the rescues will cover all expenses. All they ask of you is love and attention for the dogs. You can find out more about fostering here: FAQs on Fostering

Educate

We bought our first dog of Gumtree, we didn't know otherwise. Most don't. If you here of anyone looking for a dog then encourage them to adopt. Tell them to look on Petadoptionwebsite.com, tell them their local rescue. Send them to me and I'll introduce them to their local rescues. We need to let everyone know what we do, that we should adopt, not shop.

Volunteer

Fundraise

There are so many skills that rescues require and most don't even involve leaving the house:

  • Can you set aside time to help respond to social media messages?

  • Have you skills in writing content or blogs?

  • Have you graphic design skills to help with graphics?

  • Can you spare time to home check in your immediate area?

Fundraise

Supermarket or street collections are an AMAZING way to raise money for rescues. If you can spare a morning the rescue will provide you with the collection tins and you will make a huge difference. Or do you know a local business owner who might put up a prize as part of a raffle? Can you organise an event like a quiz? Or can you submit a rescue to your employer as their charity of the year.
